About Taxolase

Last updated: September 19, 2026

Taxolase is a free income tax calculator for the United States, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Singapore and Australia. It shows how much tax you might owe, how much you keep after tax, and where deductions could lower the bill. For the US it also covers state income tax for all 50 states and DC, and FICA payroll tax.

Who we are

Taxolase is an independent project run by the Taxolase Team. We are not accountants, tax advisers, lawyers or financial planners, we hold no tax or accounting licences, and nothing on this site should be treated as professional advice.

How the site is made

The calculators, pages and articles are built with the help of software and AI tools, and we say so plainly. What makes the numbers trustworthy is not who typed the code but how they are checked:

  • Every rate, bracket, deduction and limit comes from published tax law and is listed, with its source, on our methodology page.
  • The calculation code is covered by automated tests that compare results with hand-worked examples, including bracket edges and extreme inputs.
  • For US states we compare our data with each state's own revenue department or statute wherever we can reach it, and each state page shows which figures were confirmed and which are less firmly verified.
  • When a check turns up a mistake, we fix it and say what changed on the affected page.

What our estimates leave out

A calculator can't know your whole situation. Results are estimates: they leave out things such as local taxes, tax credits, other income and special rules, and each country and state page lists what its own estimate does not include. For anything you will file or pay, confirm the figures with your tax authority or a qualified professional. See our disclaimer.

How the site is funded

Taxolase is free to use. We may earn money from advertising and from affiliate links to products such as tax software or retirement accounts. If you sign up through an affiliate link we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. Advertising and affiliate relationships never change a calculation: the numbers come from the rules above, and no partner can pay to alter them.

Corrections and contact

Tax rules change often. If you spot an out-of-date or wrong figure, please tell us β€” include the country or state, the figure and a link to the official source. See our contact page.
